Czech phonetic transcription

The aim is to create a script for automatic transcription of Czech language phonetic forward and backward. The thesis compares the different phonetic alphabet and describes their advantages and disadvantages. For this thesis was eventually selected Czech Phonetic Alphabet (ČFA). The following are the most important rules for connection of vowels and consonants and the main assimilation rules. The script was created in MATLAB environment. The function is to convert the phonetic form using the rules described. Backward conversion is not fully debugged and it is necessary to refine the result using Aspell program for correcting spelling.

Vliv železa a jeho bioakumulace v sinici Spirulina a mikrořase Chlorella

Iron is a trace element playing a key role in a number of metabolic pathways important for all living organisms. Iron deficiency is one of the most widespread problems in human nutrition. In order to possibly use Spirulina and Chlorella as dietary supplements for people suffering from iron deficiency sideropenic anemia, the effect of different concentrations of iron in the medium (0 mg/L, 5 mg/L and 10 mg/L) on its amount in the biomass was investigated. The optimal amount of Fe2+ in the medium was determined using spectrophotometric determination of optical density (OD) and iron content in Arthrospira maxima and Chlorella vulgaris biomass, which was determined by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS). Expression analysis, performed in a model organism with a sequenced whole genome, Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, revealed the effect of selected concentrations of Fe2+ on the genes of the oxidative stress regulatory pathway. The results of the above analyzes show what are the optimal levels of iron cations for the growth of the studied organisms and its accumulation in them. The effect of iron in the chosen form, its assimilation and bioaccumulation in the cyanobacteria Spirulina and Chlorella microalgae was thus clarified.

Foreinger-Immigrant in the Bible and today: the study of relevant biblical concepts and their contextualization

The thesis deals with the importance of the foreigner-immigrant and his position in the Bible and today. With the use of the Bible, standard dictionaries and biblical commentaries the goal is to explore the Old and New Testament texts and with the help of exegeses of the secondary authors identify, analyze and critically evaluate impacts of those relevant biblical texts related to the topic of illegal immigration that are a part of immigration discussions today. The aim of the theoretical part was to get acquainted with the appropriate domestic and foreign literature which from the Christian point of view deals with the problematics of the migration and illegal immigration in particular. The practical part consisted in a mutual comparison of various exegeses of relevant biblical texts, highlighting possible similarities and differences resulting from the exegeses and pointing out benefits for the immigration discussion today.

Life in the ethnically mixed family

The bachelor thesis focuses on living in an ethnically mixed family. The first chapter of the theoretical part defines the basic concepts such as human race, ethnicity, ethnicity, nation and nationality. The second chapter deals with inter-ethnic relations. The third chapter is devoted to the Roma ethnic group, where the origin of the Roma is described only after their work in the Czech Republic. In addition to history, this chapter also focuses on Roma demography, Roma distribution, their social typology and lifestyle. The empirical part was processed using a qualitative approach. Interview was used as a method of data collection. The results of the research tell us that there are certain differences in the coexistence of two partners of different ethnicities, especially in their characters, these partners also face more difficult acceptance from family members. Such a relationship requires a lot of patience, compromise and determination.

The Defence of Czech Culture after the Entry to the European Union against assimilative tendency

This bachelor work is discusses the subject of cultural assimilation. The main goal is to compare Czech cultural policy with other European states´ policies and to ascertain how it will develop in the future. First, a programme called "Cultural Policy" aimed at protection of Czech culture, which was proposed by the Ministry of Culture and approved by the government in 2001, is introduced. The next part deals with the European Union cultural policy, particularly with programmes, in which the Czech Republic takes part, and with measures which have been taken in conjunction with the entry of the Czech Republic to the European Union. Further, it outlines cooperation with UNESCO. The trends in development of state budget revenues and expenditures (chapter 334 - Ministry of Culture) for 2003, 2004 and 2005 are described in the final part.In conclusion, proposals for more consistent protection of culture are mentioned and future development tendencies of Czech culture are outlined.

Minority{\crq}s problems and their engagement into the social life {--} with respect to Romany community (social aspect)

To highlight the most serious problems of Romany ethnic minority in Czech Republic and to reveal the reasons of that problems, it was my main aim in the thesis. I traced the long history of the Romany ethnic group (see the 2nd chapter) and I tried to find out the roots of nowdays problems of Romans in ours, especially in social area and in the way of coexistence with czech majority. The 3rd chapter reflects the present day situation of Romany in the Czech Republic {--} their social and societa status. In the last part of the thesis (chapters 4, 5, 6), I described three topics where I want to show the obvious link between the insufficient Romany education {$\rightarrow$} the deficit in skilled qualification {$\rightarrow$} the high unemployment rate in Romany community {$\rightarrow$} and the subsequent social exlusion with all the pathological phenomenons such as criminality, drugs and prostitution.

Minority Policy Towards Lusatian Sorbs in the GDR

The topic of the bachelor thesis is minority policy towards Lusatian Sorbs in the German Democratic Republic. The thesis focuses mainly on the period from the establishment of the East German state to the beginning of the 1970s. The aim of the thesis is to discover which aspects of Leninist nationality policy can be found in the East German model of minority policy directed towards the Lusatian Sorb ethnic group. The thesis first briefly introduces who the Lusatian Sorbs are and describes their changing position in the 20th century. This work then provides a definition of ethnicity and other important concepts established by the Norwegian anthropologist T.H. Eriksen. Following terminology, the approach to ethnicity in the Soviet Union and East Germany is described and the most important aspects of Soviet nationality policy, with an emphasis on "korenization" (nativization), which was an important part of Leninist nationality policy. Similarly, the thesis deals with nationality policy in the GDR and examines the application of Leninist nationality policy in the work of the umbrella organization Domowina and in bilingual education in Lausitz. DEVELOPMENT OF IMMIGRATION POLICY AND IMMIGRATION IN AUSTRALIA

The main aim of the thesis is to describe the development of immigration policy and immigration in Australia since the first colonization of the country up to the present. Individual waves since 1778 are analyzed, i.e. from the colonization of British settlers and immigration associated with gold rush to non-British immigration after the World War II. The work describes the shift from discriminatory White Australia policy which was abandoned mainly after Migration Act 1958 to multicultural policy. There were two different approaches to multiculturalism: assimilation of immigrants during the 1950s and their integration in the 1960s. Gaugh Whitlam government finally abolished the White Australia policy in 1973 replacing both previous positions with multicultural policy. Governments of prime ministers and changes of their approaches to multicultural policies since 1970s up to the present are discussed. Current migration and humanitarian program as well as special Department of Immigration and visa system are also part of this work.

The Concept of Jewishness in Howard Jacobson's The Finkler Question

This thesis focuses on the contemporary Anglo-Jewish Literature and its recent revival. Its main aim is to explain the concept of Jewishness as it is described by Howard Jacobson in his novel The Finkler Question. It consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. The first part provides background information on the history of the Jewish minority in Britain and its current position within the British society, it also describes the two basic Jewish literary types which occurs in the works of non-Jewish authors and compares Jewish literatures in Britain and America. The second part analyses the text itself. It focuses on the perspective which the author uses to show his view on the question of Jewish identity, compares the point of view of the Jewish and the non-Jewish characters. It also describes how Jacobson works with stereotypes, what role Judaism plays in the novel and what anti-Semitic issues are mentioned in the book.
